Sekhon Group developer partner with Bradford based contractor PEC for multi million pound building contract
We are pleased to announce that Alexander House (Bfd)Ltd has appointed the award-winning National building contractor PEC, based in Bradford, to complete works on 98 luxury apartments in the city of Bradford on Bolton Road next to Napoleons Casino.
The disused building was previously abandoned by a former developer and the property was rescued from administration by the Sekhon Group. It is said that the property has stood empty for over 20 years and was pigeon infested and derelict. Most estate agents have reported that there is a shortage of apartments in Bradford and the demand exceeds the supply of them. This would contribute towards alleviating some of the national housing crisis and it is without doubt that income will be generated for the Bradford Council tax department as it will attract tenants spending to the city’s local economy.
Sekhon Group confirms this development is now almost complete and is part of a milestone development comprised of 1011 apartments when it is finally completed. Iqbal Singh Sekhon (also known as Simmy Sekhon) of the Sekhon Group says “we wanted this development to be completed in very short period of time from its commencement which was extremely important whilst always maintaining and ensuring that the quality of the apartments were kept very high for the would be occupiers.”
“Having shortlisted a list of competent contractors in the region, PEC were scored as the best contractor for the group to partner with to deliver this project meeting all the stringent requirements.”

PEC`s managing director Sohan Panesar says –
“We at PEC are very pleased to have been awarded this multi-million pound conversion contract for Alexander House.
We believe that this project is important and very serviceable for the local community. During the works, PEC used all our own locally employed staff and sub-contractors including our in-house bespoke manufacturing facility providing high quality kitchens and fire doors. All the work has been carried out with great precision and to a very high quality, but our goal was also to finish ahead of schedule.
Our past experience as a contractor in connection with conversion of mill buildings to apartments has helped in delivering this project well ahead of client`s original deadline. The successful delivery of this project has led to our client awarding PEC with a further two similar projects with a total contract value of over £4 Million pounds.”
