New start for the Huddersfield Hotel
IT’S heartening to learn that The Huddersfield Hotel has been bought by a family that has already shown a commitment to the town.
Simmy Sekhon, his brother and father employ 150 people in West Yorkshire and he already owns other high profile properties in Huddersfield including Britannia Buildings and the Palace Theatre which he wants to transform into high quality student flats.
His first moves are certainly promising by bringing in a Huddersfield-based company to renovate the hotel.
It’s a Huddersfield revival scheme through and through based on local knowledge so it’s got to be great news for the town and the future of one of its most well-known businesses.
